Release informationEdit

This card was released as a promotional card. The English version was only distributed at McDonald's in Hazard or Harlan in Kentucky on December 2010, not other McDonald's restaurants. It even had a McDonald's "M" logo on the bottom left corner.

  • The card depicts the shadow Moltres from the comic, Super Mario: The Mystery of HeartGold and SoulSilver. It's also exclusive to the hacked game, Pokémon Purple.
  • This card lists the logo from Super Mario: The Mystery of HeartGold and SoulSilver above the illustrator.
  • This is the one of the several four 'spoof' cards that usually feature exclusively in English releases.
  • This card was released as a Jumbo card and was therefore not legal to use in tournaments or official events.
  • Like Shadow Zapdos MT, an error states that this is card no. 1/10. This number is actually 3/10.
  • The Pokédex Entry states that Moltres have been responded when Cheese the Chao has a heart attack in Super Mario: The Mystery of HeartGold and SoulSilver.

  • Shadow Fire is an actual shadow move in Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness. Moltres knows this move prior to purification, regaining Will-O-Wisp in its place upon being purified. This Pokédex entry comes from Pokémon Purple
